When I Lose Faith – #828Blessings

WhenILoseFaithThere are times when my faith in myself is strong and times I begin to gain arrogance, boastfulness and self-reliance.  I being to feel that I am the reason for where, who and what I am. I begin to loose my footing, my place.  The place that God has granted me because of his favor and by no greatness of my own.  I allow this faith to pull me out of position.

I doubt who I am, what my purpose is, if I can even achieve it. Why?  If my faith is strong why do I begin to waiver? Is it because of Him.  No.  It’s because I have misplaced my faith by placing it solely in myself.

I Got This!

I Can Do It!

I’m Doing Great!

This faith is faulty.  It’s the dangerous kind.  THIS is the faith I need to lose. Why?  Because it slowly steals the Glory from the One who has truly given me the ability to do any of what I reach for, anything He has placed in my heart is done with His Grace and Mercy and through no works of my own.  This faith is an obstacle I must over-come.  Pride and and self-righteousness begin to reign and humility and gratefulness are in jeopardy.

When I lose this faith it is a good thing.  It gives me the opportunity and the space to place my faith in the right place.  In Him who has no failure, no fault and who wants nothing but my better end. In my God who has given ultimate sacrifice for my ultimate good.

It is in Him that I need to find my NOW faith.  The faith that brings me through darkness when I see no light, grants me footing when I see no ground and brings me peace in the midst of my storms. With this faith I can find no doubt, no let down, no disappointment, no failure for He is always my support. In His plans my better end is always in sight.

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

“…being confident of this very thing,

that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”

When I Lose Faith, I gain strength, support, confidence and security in the plans that God has for me, my life and my family.  It is only When I Lose Faith in myself that I can stand firm on my Faith in Him.

I enjoyed your post about losing then gaining your faith. My word for 2014 is "faithful". I'm so faithful to my God, my life, my children and grandchildren, my work, and my church. How can I be faithful to all those things without losing faith? Because God has my back. It's through His faith in me that I can do all things through Him. Have a blessed day. Followed you from SITS.

This was awesome! You've hit upon one of the main stumbling blocks in our current culture, and I for one, am not immune! The fact of the matter is that I really should be thanking Him every morning I wake up with air in my lungs, but instead I'm wasting time grumbling about this or that. Whew! Anyway, thanks for sharing this post and reminding me to be humble and know the He is the source of every blessing, not my own merit, intellect, etc. 🙂

I found you through the Blog Hop @ Blogs by Christian Women.

This post is wonderful! My husband and I are facing some changes and we're not quite sure what's going to happen. I went right into worrying and having panic attacks. I felt my faith slipping. I was too focused on "I", and not enough on God. Thank you so much for the post, it was a great wake up call for me!

    God bless,

Hi! I\’m so glad this word was able to reach out and help someone…it was very helpful to me when I began to loose focus on who my true source is. When I stress my migraines go into overdrive. Remember God doesn\’t give us fear…think on the promises 🙂 I will stop by and see you too…

what a beautiful post babe…I think God tests me sometimes and then reminds me he is there. He is there to not give me what I want, but what is best for me.

Thank you…it is truly a struggle at times to remember it isn’t “I” but Him but in remembering that we gain so much more…
