NaBloPoMo {11} – Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

NaBloPoMo_November_smallToday’s Prompt:

If you had to be trapped inside a movie for 5 days,

which movie would you pick?

I’m going with my first thought on this one.  As soon as I read today’s prompt I started signing the song from Disney’s Mary Poppins.  This movie was my all time favorite as a child and I have had a blast introducing it to my own Kiddies.

As a girl, the start of this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was my favorite part of the movie!  I would get up and start singing at the top of my lungs.  I would absolutely LOVE to be trapped in the fantasy world of Mary Poppins for 5 days or even more.  To hang out with her and Bert’s chimney sweeps and to pop in and out of his chalk paintings, to have tea with Uncle Albert as he couldn’t stop laughing and to fly a kite!  I would love it!

I remember always wishing my life had it’s very own soundtrack.  Where my important moments would be given a song to go along with them.  I used to make some up and sing them as I did stuff.  (I know odd but I was an only child…had to self-entertain LOL).  I spent many an after-school afternoon watching musicals and old movies simply for the soundtracks.  To be anywhere with Julie Andrews for more than 5 minutes would absolutely make my life!

So if you know of a way I can get an invite to the land of Mary Poppins

and her carpet bag…PLEASE let me know!

I’ll have MY bags packed and ready to go in not time!

My sixteen year old daughter will still watch that movie on a VHS that we have! I love that movie! Did you know, I had to rethink my whole life about a week ago because my dad always sang that song but he sang "if you sing it loud enough you'll surely sound atrocious". I ALWAYS thought that was the words to the song, but because my boyfriend must always be right, he printed out the words and it isn't "atrocious" at all! It's "precocious". I was stunned! My whole life has been a lie! I felt rather cheated, LOL!

LMBO!!! That is too funny!! I knew it was precocious but I can totally get it sounding like atrocious and that is soo much funnier! 🙂

Nice choice! I haven't seen that movie in years and look at you bringing back childhood memories for everyone! I loved your post but you do know that now I have Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious stuck in my head, right?!?

Girrrllll…there we go again with being on the same wavelength! I know I had another Disney movie enthusiast out there. Mary Poppins has always been one of my fave movies too. Its such a feel good movie, and Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke couldn't be a better pair. Aww…this makes me want to go watch Mary Poppins now! 😉

Haha! Thanks…I tried to think of something else since it’s a Kiddie movie but then I figured why not…I really would love to be there 🙂
