How Blessings Grow

It’s so amazing how God can take moments in our lives that we thought were headed for disaster and turn them into the perfect foundation for our Blessings. Like everyone else I know, I rarely realize what it can take for blessings to grow, how at times the rough times – the storms – are actually preparing us for the blessings that lay ahead.

God can take moments QUOTE

I remember not even 4 months ago I was at a time in my life where I felt that everything and everyone were working against me. I looked into the situations and couldn’t find my good anywhere. I felt like I was under attack but so not ready to defend myself.

Then I began to pray. Pray without ceasing. I called out the promises of God into my life and refused to accept that what was – was what was meant to be. I focused on believing in the good that I knew God saw in the end of things despite what I was seeing right then.

It worked. Slowly I started to see things change, situations adjust and people’s attitudes improve (including my own). I started praising and thanking God for the things I knew my family and I needed in our lives. The growth we needed to thrive as a whole and it began to come forth. Things changed, doors opened, minds changed and our season turned. We began to see the growth come forth from the storms we had been enduring.

There was purpose. All the bad was ultimately working for our good (Romans 8:28). It was here when I understood our rainy season – the times we saw as stormy – was simply God preparing us for the growth that was on the way. With those times we wouldn’t be ready for what was to come.

That’s why I am writing this… to encourage anyone who is going through a time of storm that it won’t last always. Soon you will be rejoicing in the midst of your blessings and realize that the hard times were doing nothing more than preparing your life for the seeds of growth meant to bring you through.

How do you get through when you are in the midst of a storm?
