I Made The Cast of Listen To Your Mother Raleigh-Durham 2017!

I’ve Been Cast Ya’ll!! I’ve made the cast of Listen To Your Mother 2017 Raleigh-Durham Show!! I am so excited I can barely contain myself and I’m so happy it’s finally time to share this news with you!

I first came across Listen To Your Mother when a few of my Blogger friends were cast members in recent shows. Aaronica Bell of The Crunchymommy and Danielle Slaughter of Mamademics to be specific. I was so inspired and in awe of how bravely they shared their individual stories of Motherhood. Whether it be the story of how a village helped a single mother or raising a black child in today’s world. They each shared themselves in a way I longed to experience.

I started stalking the LTYM Facebook, Twitter and Web Page hoping they would have Auditions somewhere near me so that I could be a part. Then last year, I stumbled upon the fact that Melissa Wells – one of the many women I admire from BlogHer – is also a Co-Producer and Mentor for LTYM. She told me that auditions would be coming to Raleigh in 2017. Raleigh is a mere 90 minutes away!! This was my chance!

So February 4th my Hubby drove me to the auditions. I was so nervous I could barely sit still the entire ride. We arrived a bit early and he had to force me to eat something. I scarfed down a sandwich grab as I practice my trying to share my story in 5 minutes or less. 4 minutes 57 seconds. Got It!

As I walked up the stairs to Room 202 I felt like I was going to pass out. This was it. This was my chance to be a part of the history of amazing women who stand on stages across the country sharing, revealing and opening their lives as mothers to those in the audience. I wasn’t sure if I would make it but I knew I had to do this. I had to step out of my comfort zone and put myself in the way of this opportunity – hoping it wouldn’t pass me by.

I’m stepping a bit out of my comfort zone today. Putting my word #LIMITLESS to the test. I needed a bit of encouragement and Thanks to #MyKid I got just that… ? #MisterEJ #LoveMyKiddies #LoveMyLife #NCBlogger #NCVlogger #TheMrsTee

After a bit of encouragement from my oldest via text I was called in. It was my turn to share the words that I felt best told my Motherhood story. 5 minutes never seemed to go by so fast! I seriously can’t remember more than introducing myself and suddenly saying Thank You for the opportunity. It was over. I would hear back in a few days. Now it was time to wait.

The moment I saw that email pop into my box with those four amazing letters – LTYM – my fingers hovered over the keyboard hoping it was the answer I wanted to see. It Was! I was in! I was officially a member of the cast of Listen To Your Mother 2017!!

So now I’m sharing this amazing news with you my awesomely wonderful online friends! It’s because of you I had the courage to enter my name for the audition. Over the past 4 years, you have each given me the courage to share pieces of myself with the world. Knowing that somehow what I had to say would reach those you needed it the most. I hope to do the same with this experience. I hope to encourage, uplift and perhaps inspire another woman who may be where I once was. A mother who simply wants to be her best for her children.

If you happen to live in or near the Raleigh area I would love to have your support in the audience. The show is being held Friday, May 5th at 730pm at the Jones Auditorium – Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. You can get tickets, meet my fellow cast members and read the backstory of Listen To Your Mother. I’d also be forever grateful if you would spread the word…
