Musicals take the story of a person, family or city and give a place where the music tells the story in a unique way spoken words alone cannot. Music City brings the music to each audience member and pulls you in to the story in a way you will never forget.

The Experience

Growing up I was the kid who watched PBS and all the old movie channels wishing I could somehow join in the story and be a part of the fun. Mary Poppins, White Christmas, Singing In The Rain, Annie, Hairspray – you name it I’ve watched it. I loved imagining I was right there on stage singing the lyrics to my hopes and dreams, fears and struggles.

When you arrive at your seat you are no longer in a theater, you’re immediately welcomed to The Wicked Tickle! The waitresses say “Hey”, you get a drink on stage and your fun at the Wicked Tickle begins. This is one of the many Music City joints where music and friendship flow as freely as the drinks they serve.

“The Wicked Tickle is more than a set on a stage it’s one of the main characters in the show – one you will feel like you know well by closing curtain!” – TheMrsTee

The Story

Music City brings you into the story of two young musicians who like many in Nashville dream of bright lights and the big stage. TJ and 23 meet at the Wicked Tickle at a time in their lives when what they need even more than a break is someone who gets them the way their music gets them.

TJ (played by Dez Duron) has lived his life writing and singing the words to his life and hoping that one day they would help take him to bigger places. 23 (played by Katlyn Marie Scardefield) has shared her hopes for change in each lyric hoping her determination alone would give her the break she needs to make things better.

As you sit, you witness both TJ and 23 begin to understand that the choices they make for the right reasons don’t always bring the right results. Through it all its the music that keeps them. The music and their belief in the words they sing.

This seems like it was a really fun experience. It’s been such a long time since I’ve seen a live musical. Hopefully, I can catch one soon.
