My Heart HIS Love · Daddy’s Heart Conference 2019

We’ve all heard the advice: “don’t bring the damages of a past relationship into a new relationship”, right? The amazing thing about our God is those are the type of relationships he specializes in. The broken and damaged. You can come to Him with your broken heart knowing and trusting He’s going to mend that brokenness repair the damage and strengthen you for the better to come in your life.

The Invitation

When Dr. Patrice Carter came to me with the invitation to be a part of the Daddy’s Heart Conference as media I was so excited. I immediately said yes because I knew that her passion for building, growing and empowering the Kingdom of God is massive. I knew being a part of that would be a blessing in itself. What I did not know was that by accepting the invitation I was also accepting God’s invitation. He wanted to have a heart-to-heart experience with me – on His terms.

Ready To Work

Of course, I arrived ready to work I had my camera, my gear – everything I needed to make sure I could give the best coverage possible. I wanted to share the power of this event with those who could not make it that day. I’d prayed the entire week to help me find the unique perspective, the moments that needed to be seen the most and the ability to execute them in excellence.

The thing I didn’t realize was that God also showed up ready to work. God had a plan for my heart I didn’t know I needed. He had His ministers, their testimonies, their passion, and purpose – everything He needed to reach me at the very seams of my broken heart.

As we prepped the venue and I got settled finding my way around, looking for power sources, tables and where I was going to stand.  I wanted to know the best places to be for the best perspective of the ministry I knew was going to take place in the space. Little did I know God was doing the same.

My Heart

As Patrice and the others prepared their hearts for the ministry they were to bring forth, there was preparation being made for me within the process. As I stood outside frustrated because I couldn’t find words that captured the depth of what I felt was about to happen God was giving Patrice words that would capture my heart in an instant.

I heard the prayers being lifted inside but I didn’t want to interrupt so I said my prayer for the day on my own. I’d already determined that my job was not to be seen or heard but instead to observe and share.  Yet God had me in His heart. As I went back into the building Patrice approached me and told me that she had something for me – a word – a message from God. The message spoke directly to my heart – to the brokenness I’d long forgotten.

If any of you have ever read my blog completely you know I’ve shared the journey of how I went about finding my true path. The journey isn’t complete yet. The story isn’t complete yet. There are posts that are yet to be written. I don’t feel ready to go there – in my heart. In my life as a Christian in my journey in my ministry, I’ve always felt there were expectations I just couldn’t meet. Not always those placed by God but by people, family and even myself. In the words that Patrice spoke to me, I felt a release from the expectations that have for so long held me back, bound me and scared me. They were replaced with the promises of God, His purpose for me and His Destiny in my life.

His Love

My ministry may not be bound by the traditional one anymore. My words, my encouragement, and my message may not come from behind a pulpit – anymore. Yet I still have a platform, I still have a way to reach the souls that I know my testimony is meant to impact. The Daddy’s Heart Conference gave me an opportunity to share the power of the conference through my skills but in an unexpected twist, I also found the key to mending damage and unlocking my Father’s heart in a new way.

I met God again as Daddy, Abba Father, my friend my comfort and my strength. For this, I will be forever grateful for Dr. Patrice Carter and Dalton Carter for being willing to release themselves to the purpose of their ministries and make this conference a reality.
