This morning I woke up trying to decide what to write for my #828Blessings post today. I went over the various situations God has worked out for me this week but none of them felt ‘right’. When I woke up this morning the ground was covered in frost and all I could think was “Isn’t God amazing!?!” I kept thinking that again and again. As I drove my Teenager to his practice, I felt a pause in my Spirit. A Selah moment. To reflect and give thanks.
On my drive home, I began looking at the beauty of the day. This need to pause wouldn’t leave me. I yielded. My thoughts took me to how recently I have met so many people through my Blog and this new experience who in my day-to-day I would never have met. People that I would truly miss if I were not to have them in my life tomorrow.
The same way God takes the time to place the frost on the grass this day and not the next He takes the time to place specific people in our lives who can bring us to new places and experiences. Within the past 3 months I have met Ladies who have taught me that who I am is okay and being that with confidence is okay too. I have been able to receive encouragement through people’s words, experiences and testimonies that have helped me in ways I have yet to share.
As I pulled into my driveway I thanked God for giving me the time to pause and give thanks for the unexpected blessings of people and their gifts in my life. I realize that there are people who are in my life for reasons and seasons yet either way they are still ‘in my life’ and for that I am grateful.
There are times in our lives when we get so busy and overwhelmed with simply being busy that we forget to pause and simply give thanks. Thanks for our blessings, our families and our friendships.
So today my #828Blessings story is one of taking a pause for thanks and being grateful for the unexpected friendships and support systems through unexpected sources that God has been so gracious to bless me with.
…What’s Yours?
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

I like this! I'm thankful for my family and the few friends that I do have. I know sometimes we don't see the little things as blessings but my mother always use to say, stop complaining, there is someone out there who has less and is grateful for what they have. Be grateful always.

Your Grandmother is so right. There is always someone less fortunate than us so to be grateful for all things is so important. Thanks for coming by 🙂
I recently finished reading Anne Lamott's book, "Help, Thanks, Wow". It's essentially about prayer and that our three main prayers tend to be one of those three words, nothing more, nothing less. And they are powerful, powerful moments when we reach out to God and use one of those three prayers.
It's a bit early and I haven't quite had enough coffee, but for some reason those little pauses remind me of those tiny prayers. Taking the time to recognize the beauty of God's creations, pausing just long enough to be grateful. It's all so beautiful and so so perfect.

That sounds like an amazing book. One I must definitely look into reading. Thank you so much. I’m glad you were able to take a pause with me (even on minimal coffee 😉
God is so good and if we only took time out everyday to say thank you and testify to others the world would be a much more pleasant place – thanks for sharing you special day.
Yes He Is! If we tell even one person everyday we could make such a difference. Thanks so much for coming by! 🙂
