Christmas. One of my favorite times of the year and one of the most stressful as well. In my family once October comes the rest of the year seems to become a blur. We have Birthdays, Holidays and so much going on it within those 3 months it can be easy to stress out over the little stuff. This year Amazon Prime helped take away that stress and bring a bit of joy to the process!
How Amazon Saved My Christmas
Crowded Stores, Crazy Long Lines and all the in-store Holiday Shopping Madness are probably the main things that take away from the joy of the season for me. This year I decided that I was going to skip that stress all together. Instead of driving from store to store trying to find all the things on my Kiddies Christmas Wish Lists I decided to do everything online.
Now I know this isn’t a new thing. I mean with Cyber Monday and all I realize I haven’t discovered sliced bread or anything. Still I was determined to check as many things off our lists in one place as possible. That one place? Amazon of course! I was able to find nearly every item my Kiddies wanted the most. Now the only thing to was delivery time. I mean I was shopping 2 weeks before Christmas (did I forget to mention that earlier…yeah…life happened…early shopping didn’t). That’s where the awesomeness that is Amazon Prime comes in!
Amazon has always be a go to source for me when I’m searching for that unique gift that I know I can just run and pick up in my local department or warehouse store. Yet I never really used it for the everyday items and gifts – until we discovered Amazon Prime!
Amazon Prime is a membership that allows users to order items with 2 day expedited shipping for FREE. You pay an annual fee of $99 (or $10.99/month) that’s it! You’re all set and ready to shop! I first tried Amazon Prime as a 30 day trial and although I liked it I didn’t keep it. My Hubby on the other hand forgot to end his trial and had it for a full year. Once we realized the convenience Amazon prime gave as well as the extras we knew that was the best mistake he ever made!
- FREE Two-Day Shipping for eligible purchases
- Unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows with Prime Video
- Borrow books from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library
- Access to Amazon Prime Photo

Recently we learned that one Amazon Prime membership could be shared among family members. This means that my husband’s Prime access now extends to my personal account as well. This was a big reason for my decision to make Amazon my shopping buddy this Holiday Season. Let me share how I did it…
Making A List
The first step in how Amazon Prime saved our Christmas this year came in making the lists. I have 3 Kiddies all under age 10. To say their lists can be a bit hectic is no exaggeration. From dolls to drones they knew what they wanted and all I had to do was figure out how to make it happen.
I started my search and was so happy to find everything on their lists plus a few things I just knew they would love. I shared my final Christmas List via email with my Hubby for his review and he placed the order.
Checking It Twice
Next step was to wait for the deliveries to begin. Thankfully with Amazon Prime that wait wasn’t long at all. The first of the boxes started arriving the day after we placed our order. I printed out my Christmas Wish List and started checking things off. I felt like a manager taking inventory but I also felt so satisfied knowing that our Kiddies Christmas was going to be full of the things they wanted the most.
Santa Claus Is Coming
Over the next few days our deliveries were just like have Santa Claus himself make daily visits to our house. Of course my Kiddies had no clue what was in all the smiling boxes – But I Did!! I think I was more excited about each new delivery than I am when I actually go to the stores. I opened each box with so much expectation you would think I hadn’t ordered them myself.
Wrap It, Bag It, Tag It – Done!
Once all the boxes were there and I checked all my lists it was time to wrap, bag and tag all the gifts. The larger items went into really awesome Santa Sacks and the rest were wrapped and tagged. I don’t place everything under the tree until a few days before Christmas BUT just knowing that we have completely rocked this Christmas thanks to Amazon Prime – well this Momma is definitely happy.

Prime is one of the best things to ever happen to me LOL. It makes everything so, so much easier!! I'm still ordering Christmas presents! 😉 Thank god for Prime – it's definitely a life saver time and time again!
Me Too!! I can’t imagine how much I paid for shipping before…LOL Thanks so much for coming by Jennifer!
Should I be embarrassed to say that I am addicted to Amazon?!?! I mean, I love going out and about shopping but more often than not, the variety and the ease of shopping online trumps getting stressed and wasting gas 😉
Nope. I too am a fellow addict…LOL I totally brows the App anytime I\’m bored and almost always end up buying something… 🙂
I love shopping via Amazon Prime all throughout the year. I love the quick shipping, which is awesome for me since I always seem to be last minute or forget something. Prime example, I realized I forgot someone's gift last night so this morning I had to rush to Amazon to place my order. Thank goodness it is scheduled to arrive in time.
Yes! Oh see… only Amazon Prime could’ve saved you like that!! Gotta love it 🙂
Amazon is definitely a life saver. I order from them often. I too took to the site for my Christmas shopping. Actually all of my shopping was done online this year. Lol…I just remember, I need to get one more gift…off to Amazon.
Well I hope you’re taking advantage of Prime then. It’s a game changer when it comes to saving and shipping!
OMG, this post is the story of my life. Amazon Prime definitely saved Christmas and Hannukah for us. It has been in the single digits in Chicago lately and we were also hit with a stomach bug so I accomplished nothing. Thankfully I shopped online and our packages were here almost immediately so I didn't need to stress about Santa not making it to our house this year.
Hahaha! Well it’s good to know I’m not alone in my love for Amazon Prime!! It’s the perfect solution to avoid the crowds and madness of the Holidays.
Yes! Amazon Prime has been such a lifesaver for us when it comes to Christmas Shopping. It seems as if we have something happening just about every afternoon or night, and finding an opportunity to shop without kids can be next to impossible. I love that I can also choose to have my packages shipped to a diffderent address. This way the kids can't find the packages, either!
Right! Everything that comes with the Holidays seems to work against time to shop in store… Amazon has been the best option. Haha… love that good idea!
My mother is a big fan of Amazon Prime. I swear that probably how she bought all of out Christmas Gifts.I am not a Prime member but have to become one.
Well your Mother knows a thing or two…it’s awesome! You definitely should. After all, Mother knows best 🙂
I didn't realize it could be shared. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I would use it often enough. This is a great deal for you though. I've been down sick so haven't even started shopping and I have 4 days. Ugh. Maybe I might give in and do this. Merry Christmas
I didn’t either. The Hubby did a bit of research. I’m enjoying every bit of of it though 🙂 Oh wow! I hope you feel better soon. Amazon is the best solution when you can’t make it to the store and that 2 day shipping is amazing!
