Christmas In The Park Lights Up Our Hearts | #MYFayetteville

Press/Media Coverage Disclosure

Christmas lights have always been a major part of what the Holiday is to me. I grew up in New York and we would go out on Christmas Eve and ride around the neighborhood singing Christmas Carols while oohing and aahing at everyone’s lights! The colors, designs and sheer beauty of the displays lit up our hearts nearly as much as it did the park.  Christmas In The Park brought back some of my favorite childhood memories and helped me make a few new ones with my own children.

Moments Into Memories

When we moved to North Carolina I was so nervous about finding ways to create moments like those with my children. The ones that would last well beyond their childhood. I searched all over for things to do and places to be that would leave lasting impressions. This Holiday Season the one thing my children asked for was to find lights to look at. We have a few neighbors here and there who decorate but I knew I wanted them to see something that would light up their hearts in a big way!

I knew I found just that when I stumbled upon Christmas In The Park. It came through my Facebook Events Feed and I was shocked to see that it was right here in Fayetteville! I checked out the website and from what I saw it definitely promised to be something to remember. After a few rain delays we finally made our way last night. The kiddies and I piled into the car and took the short 15 minute ride to Arnette Park. As we drove in we were immediately greeted by an amazing view of trees and Holiday scenes all lit up in color, white and dancing lights.

All The Lights

Christmas In The Park is a 1/2 mile walking trail but you get hint at what is to come as you ride through to the parking area. That short drive alone had my entire family excited to get out and explore the park in full. I knew from the website that there were lights as well as activities including several Food Trucks, Crafts for the Kids, Movies and even Santa!

We were not disappointed! I think I as excited as my children by how many different displays and designs were there. Still the main attraction for me was definitely the center display. There in the middle of everything is a field of lights shaped as different sized Christmas Trees that have been set to dance, sparkle and twinkle to the rhythm and beats of the Holiday Songs that play throughout the park. I actually lost myself in the beauty for at least 3 songs before my Kiddies reminded me there was more to see!

We walked the trail snapping photos of our favorite displays. My kiddies loved the Rocket ship dropping presents down from a tree, The Kid with his tongue stuck on a pole,  Grandma getting run over by a Reindeer!

After walking a bit we came upon Santa’s House. It was warm and welcoming and I was so grateful to realize that we could actually get our picture with Santa this year despite being so close to Christmas Day for just $5!

Once we were done, we headed over to the Food Trucks and indulged in Hot Chocolate and Hot Dogs. I know – weird combination but the chilly night and our grumbling tummies made them the perfect snacks!

I can promise you my family and I have found our newest Christmas Tradition and I think perhaps you can find yours too!
