One Word 2019 · RELEASE

2019 is my fourth year of selecting one word to inspire my life for a full 12 months, 52 weeks and 365 days. Each time I start the process of selecting a word I try to think of the impact it will have on my life as a whole. A word that will give me focus and inspiration to release both the good and even a bit of the bad in my life. Wait. Release. That’s it! My one word for 2019 – Release.

One Word. Two Meanings.

Release – (verb) allow or enable to escape from confinement; set free | allow (something) to move, act, or flow freely.

Release: (noun) the action or process of releasing or being released.

In 2019 I want to allow myself to escape the confinement of my own doubts, disbelief and discouragement. To allow my passions to move, act and flow freely in both my personal and professional life. Yet I also want 2019 to be the year my blessings, opportunities, and growth are released from the boundaries I’ve set on myself.

Release will allow me to do both by focusing on applying this one word and it’s two amazing meanings to my life.

Release – What

To find the freedom to escape the things I’ve allowed to hold me back in the past, I must put my word in action in 2019. I will release:

  • Fear
  • Discouragement
  • Anxiety
  • Self-Doubt

The other side of release for me is allowing myself to accept the good God places before me without the negative obstacles of fear, discouragement, and anxiety. Finding a way to release the negative things will ultimately make room for the positive to be released into my life in ways I can’t even imagine.

  • Strength
  • Forgiveness
  • Reconciliation
  • Opportunities
  • Advancement
  • Growth

Release – How

My first line of attack for removing anything unwanted in my life is prayer. Through prayer, I gain the strength, encouragement, uplift and most of all God power to do things I know I can never do on my own. I will pray:

  • 2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV) … For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
  • Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) … Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and I will help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
  • Philippians 4:6 (NIV) …Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Release – Where

God’s promises give me the strength I need to release the negative but once they’re gone I need to allow the positive to flow freely into my life. To open myself up to the things I missed out on things in my marriage, motherhood, friendships, and business – everywhere I am I want a release to flow. A release of the bad to make way for the release of the good.

It’s through my faith I can release the bad in order for God to release the good in my life for the blessings God has waiting for me in 2019!

“…to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” Eph 3:20 (NKJV)
