I want to tell you a story. A story about a backpack named Corbin that took a journey traveling across the country and at times around the world with women who have proven they are brave, confident and adventurous in so many ways.
The Corbin
R.Riveter prides itself on being a Brand and Company that listens to its customers. After years of suggestions and wishes the design for the Corbin Backpack became a reality. This backpack is made to transition from work day to fun day while keeping its function and style.
I think this may be the only backpack I’ve come across that can go from backpack to cross-body bag with a few clicks of a strap. The interior has pockets for just about everything you could need from a phone to pens. The large main portion of the backpack can fit a laptop up to 15″ and more!
The Corbin Backpack is named in honor of Margaret Corbin, a remarkable woman who fought during the American Revolutionary War despite the status of women during her time. A nurse by trade, Corbin decided to join her husband during a battle, where they both fought alongside the hundreds of men battling the British troops. During battle, her husband fell in action, and Corbin bravely took his place at the cannon and continued to fire until she was too seriously injured to continue. She became the first woman to ever receive military pension and has a memorial at West Point Cemetery. – R.Riveter
To launch the Corbin, R.Riveter decided to send it traveling throughout the summer with each of its Brand Ambassadors. The backpack went with us on vacations, adventures, family fun days, work and everyday errands. Does the story sound a bit familiar?
The Story
Much like the story in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants the story behind the traveling Corbin started with friendship. Brand Ambassadors of R.Riveter have much in common as Women, Mothers, Entrepreneurs and Military Spouses. We have become a small family sharing our wins, struggles and victories all while supporting a brand we believe in with a mission we support.
During our summer we would each take the Corbin for a week then send it on its way to the next Ambassador. Before sending the backpack off to the next Ambassador we would sign the inside with our name and where we took the Corbin. Some would leave notes and cards for the next. Others left gifts and symbols of who they were or where they had been.
The Traveling
I knew my summer was going to be spent close to home but I was determined to get the most out of my time with the Corbin! So I started by packing it up and taking it with me for a few meetings and fun in Historical Downtown Fayetteville, NC.
I was able to fit my 13″ Macbook Air, notebook, pens, phone, chargers, wallet and more within the roomy Corbin. I walked around for half the day and the backpack was light, comfortable and easy to access. I was in love!
My summer was spent with hanging out with my family and the Corbin was there no matter where my day took me. Brunch at our favorite diner or restocking the snacks my Kiddies seemed to need daily. The Corbin was right there for every grocery run and errand day. Even though summer is for family in my home I did sneak a few Mom Days out in there to grab a great brunch, lunch or cup of coffee and my Corbin was always along for the fun!
My summer was definitely made better by having the Corbin traveling along with me! You can get your very own R.Riveter Corbin or Shop The Signature Collection. You can even shop the New Fall/Winter Collection. Be sure to take a look and see what R.Riveter bag or accessory you can add to your closet!
