Social Media Mixer-2

The Social Media Mixer is all about networking and making connections. Also, you can gain exposure and increase your social media following! Link up your blog posts and social media accounts and mix it up with some of the other linkers. Each week, the Weekday Mixer will start on Saturday nights at 8:00pm and go on until Wednesday nights at 11:59pm. A blog post will be chosen each week by each of the hosts and guest hosts and featured in the following week’s link-up! If chosen, a brief summary about yourself and your blog/website and all of your social media accounts will be featured. It’s a great way to stand out among the crowd! Homemade Pumpkin Parmesan Gnocchi with Goat Cheese Garlic Sauce Recipe from The Gold Lining Girl

Okay… we’re still on pumpkin. Are you sick of it yet? Hope not because this train isn’t derailing anytime soon. At least today I’m bringing you some variation. Make no mistake, pumpkin desserts still abound in my queue, but right now I’m mixing it up with a dish that’s more on the savory side! I think that’s part of the fun of baking and cooking with pumpkin – it’s so versatile!

2 Minute Tips on Tuesday {even though it’s Wednesday} from I’m Not a Trophy Wife

pinchtip1-1024x685

The story of my life is written in my calendar and to-do list. Some days the only item I cross off my list is “shower.” Organizational experts suggest breaking down tasks into smaller ones. The idea being that if you {meaning myself} can break it down, an individual {me} will obviously not feel so overwhelmed. Okay, except the list itself can send me into a full blow panic attack on a Sunday night! Stay with me!

Cherry Cheesecake Cupcake from Lou Lou Girls

My Cassie works at Maple Mountain High school, and the other day, one of her co workers did the nicest thing for my family and I had to come up with a “thank you” that matched the act! I found out that she was a lover of diet coke, like me, and so that made sense to take her a 12 pack of this bubbly goodness but that just wasn’t enough!

I came up with this cupcake and I hope she liked it as much as we did. It is seriously heaven in a cupcake! My husband Mikie came home at ate 3 before she changed his clothes from work.

Mom Hair from Pardon My French

mom_hair

This post could have also been titled “the evolution of dirty hair”, but I didn’t think that was very inviting. But I am a mom, and I do have hair so mom hair it is! Lately I have gotten a few questions as to “how I go so long without washing my hair”, totally justified question. Chris actually asks me this all the time. He just for the life of him cannot understand why I don’t wash my hair everyday. Simple answer is….I don’t have that kind of time. I can maybe jump in the shower for six minutes before someone has attempted the amputation of limbs from another someone in the house. So I thought I would just lay it out for you.

Autumn Mason Jar from From My Carolina Home

Aren’t Mason jars the neatest things? I don’t know why I am so drawn to them, maybe because they remind me of a simpler time. My grandmother made the best jams, and always used those jars. I found these lovelies in a thrift store, and had to get them. They say Golden Harvest on the side with an embossed cornucopia.

My Experience With Racism. from Domain of the Mad Mommy

Racism

I saw a news story recently that made me think about moments from my own past. My own experiences with racism.
The news story was about a black actress that was detained by police and accused of being involved in “Lewd Acts” with her white boyfriend. I know that there is always more than one side to a story, so I am not promoting one side or the other. I am just going to share the experience of my own that this reminded me of.

Today, I had a sick baby and it might be just what I needed from Confessions of a Frumpy Mommy

me and sick ab

I’m going to say something that the ‘Mom Gods’ are going to be mad at me for but it needs to be said: Today, I realized, even if only for a few hours, that being stuck at home with a sick baby was just what I needed.

The Sting of Divorce: Surviving Infidelity from Chaos & Kiddos

STRICTLY-682x1024

If there’s one thing I don’t want this blog to become, it’s some sort of marker for that one person who “has it all, does it all, can be it all” without batting an eye or dropping a bead of sweat. Authenticity and transparency mean a lot to me, and if there is any one universal truth about what it means to be a working mom, it’s that no one’s journey is bullet proof and everyone has experienced some level of earth-shattering difficulty at some point in time.

Reclaimed Kitchen Island from Scrapality

kitchen-island7

When we removed the wall between the kitchen and the dining room a kitchen island was top on my list. After the wall came down I was more worried I didn’t have enough space to add an island. And after a while I actually decided against it. Then the wheels started turning. I wanted an island that added storage and counter space but I didn’t want it to take up the entire room.
